The game had a very big importance for third-ranked San Salvador as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Salvador smashed 5th ranked Santa Tecla at home 91-48. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Tecla's 28. San Salvador forced 19 Santa Tecla turnovers. It was a great shooting night for San Salvador especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Santa Tecla's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San Salvador made 7 blocks. Naturalized American point guard Marquise Mosley (170-1997, college: Biola, CA, agency: Crossover Management) fired 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Giancarlo Toledo-Rivera (185, college: UC Santa Cruz) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. San Salvador's coach Arturo Mata felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eliezer Sanchez produced 5 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks for lost side. San Salvador have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Santa Tecla at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Santa Tecla will play next round against Santa Ana trying to get back on the winning streak. The game in Ahuachapan was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Salvadorenos (5-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Ahuachapan (1-5). Salvadorenos managed to secure a 4-point victory 85-81. Worth to mention a great performance of Kevin Carrillo who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Diego Minero contributed with 22 points for the winners. American-Laos guard Kadeim Jones (191-1999, college: UWG) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for Ahuachapan. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Salvadorenos moved-up to second place, which they share with Metapan. Ahuachapan at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Cojute and Santiagueno. Salvadorenos will play against A.Lobos (#4) in the next round. Ahuachapan will play against Brujos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for Marc Montavious who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Darius Daniels responded with 18 points and 8 assists. A.Lobos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brujos. Santiagueno lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Cojute and Ahuachapan. A.Lobos will meet Brujos (#5) in the next round. Santiagueno will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 7 Santiagueno was defeated by Brujos in Izalco 96-79.



Brujos - Santiagueno 96-79

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Santiagueno's (1-5) road loss to sixth ranked Brujos (4-2) 79-96 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American guard Brent Kelly (185-2000, college: Nichols) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bahamas forward KJ Reckley (201, college: Niagara) helped adding 14 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Kelly is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Brujos' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American point guard Darius Daniels (183-1997) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) scored 2 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Brujos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with A.Lobos. Santiagueno lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Cojute and Ahuachapan. Brujos will meet at home A.Lobos (#4) in the next round. Santiagueno will have a break next round.
